Mediation
Mediation is the voluntary, facilitated resolution of disputes by means other than litigation or arbitration. Mediation generally provides quicker and less expensive resolution of disputes than other methods such as litigation or arbitration, both of which rely ultimately on compulsion, with winners and losers, while mediation does not. Because of these differences, a growing number of disputes are being resolved by mediation. Practice in this area involves training and experience in the role of mediator.
